Discover The Bible

This Ministry meets weekly on Tuesday morning after the 9:00 am Mass every week throughout the year. The meetings begin and end with a short prayer session both thanking and asking God for necessary graces. There is a short social period with coffee, tea, cheese and cookies, etc. before we begin the meeting seriously. Each week we study the readings for the following Sunday. As far as we're able, we discuss the historical and cultural backgrounds of the readings and go over the meanings that the authors were attempting to get across to the audiences.

Any questions which members of the group bring up are discussed together with the interpretations of a few scripture scholars.

On some occasions some homework is assigned and is discussed the following week. The sessions end between 11:00 am and 12 noon.
