Life Teen Music Ministry’s Role
As part of the Life Teen team, music ministry members work to fulfill the Life Teen mission of “Bringing teens closer to Christ” under the banner of our parish vision of “Becoming a joyful, Catholic community of Spirit-filled disciples, worshiping the risen Lord.” We accomplish this through our role in the liturgy and in our relationships with teens and Life Teen leadership. Geared towards teens, the music tends to be a bit more up beat than more “traditional” services. By sharing music that remains simple, singable and scriptural, we are trying to nourish and foster prayer, enhancing the liturgy and the Gospel message within.

The Power of Liturgy
There is nothing more powerful and transforming than liturgy done well. There is also nothing as damaging to the faith lives of a community as liturgy done poorly. Music plays a very important role in the success of liturgy. This is why entering into such a ministry should not be done without careful consideration and prayer.

How Good Do I Have To Be?
Many people want to share their love for music and their gifts with their church community. Music ministry is leadership - not an activity, and ministers must be leaders, both in the attitude they bring and the skills they have to offer. We understand the importance of individual and team growth. To that end, we endeavor to equip our ministers spiritually and musically through retreats and workshops.

Practice Makes Perfect
For music ministry, rehearsal is essential. We owe it to the people of God. Aside from personal practice, the Life Teen band rehearses every Sunday from 2:45 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. in the sanctuary. Life Teen Mass follows at 5:00 p.m.

Other Events
Besides the weekly Life Teen Mass, our ministry may be involved in a number of other events around the Church. These are planned on an individual basis depending on availability. While there is opportunity for everyone to be involved, everyone is not always needed. The Life Teen Mass and Life Nights are our focus as a music ministry.

Sign Me Up!
The Life Teen Music Ministry is always looking for skilled musicians and vocalists who feel the call to ministry. Our immediate need is for experienced male vocalists, piano , acoustic, electric and bass guitar players. If you are skilled and versatile on your instrument, we need YOU!
