Confirmation Program Overview

Confirmation at St Michael’s Catholic Community is scheduled to be celebrated on November 15th, 2010. The Confirmation program is open to students in grades 7 to 12 and at least 12 years as of November 15th 2010. The 2010 program starts October 21st as follows:

• Thursday, October 21st at 7:00pm - Candidate and Parent Meeting
• Sunday, October 24th – Session #1 - 2:45pm to 4:30pm
• Sunday, October 31st – Session #2 - 2:45pm to 4:30pm.
• Sunday, November 7th – Session #3 - 2:45pm to 4:30pm.
• Saturday & Sunday, November 13th and 14th - Weekend Retreat
• Sunday, November 14th - Session #5 at 2:45pm Confirmation Rehearsal for Candidates and Sponsors (at the church).
• Monday, November 15th at 7:30pm - Confirmation with Bishop Henry.

• Teaching
• Skits
• Small Group discussion
• Announcements
• Social Time - until Mass at 5 PM

Each Candidate will be expected to complete 4 hours of Parish Community service by November 1, 2010. Please note that the Community Service can be undertaken at any time and does not need to wait until the Confirmation program starts. Once registered, the candidate will be given a choice oc community service to perform.

There are 4 forms required for participation in the program.

• Form 1 - Registration Form
• Form 2 - Sponsor Certificate
  The Sponsor Certificate is to be completed once the Sponsor is known and forwarded to the Confirmation Coordinator no later than November 10th, 2010.
• Form 3 - Confirmation Agreement
  Outlines the Candidate's obligations to the program.
• Form 4 - Service Completion Form
  The Service Completion Form is to be completed by the Candidate as well as the supervisor of the service work and returned to the Confirmation Coordinator. A list of opportunities will be posted on the web site shortly.

To register, please send a completed Registration Form (Form1), a completed Agreement (Form3), a copy of the Candidate's Baptism Certificate and the $50.00 registration fee to the Confirmation Coordinator at the Parish Office. In cases of financial need the registration fee may be waived or reduced.
