Pastoral Care

OBJECTIVES

  1. To bring the Eucharist to those not able to celebrate the Sunday Eucharist.
  2. To bring Christ's healing and presence and his peace and comfort to those who are separated from the community due to illness at the hospitals, the nursing homes and in the private homes.
  3. To visit the sick, the shut-in, the lonely, the bereaved and the dying within the parish.
  4. To listen.
  5. To form a community where members support, pray with and celebrate God's life with one another.

PROGRAMS 1 ACTIVITIES

To help with the various activities of the Pastoral Care Ministry:

  • Monthly Seniors Social, o Monthly Healing Mass,
  • Weekly Mass at Cedars Villa,
  • Weekly Communion Services at: Wentworth Manor, Manor Village, and Aspen Lodge.

Provide rides for seniors to Sunday Eucharist.

TRAINING

Excellent training courses are provided by the Diocese in the areas of Pastoral Care, Bereavement and Palliative Care.
