Stewardship Committee

Stewardship is based on the scriptural principles of the Old Testament and the teachings of Jesus. Where it has been implemented, the lives of both givers' and receivers' lives have been changed. Stewardship is a way of life, a way of thanking God for all the blessings we have received by returning a portion of the TIME, TALENT and TREASURE allotted to us. It involves intentional, planned, and proportionate giving of our TIME, TALENT and TREASURE.

Giving of time involves being with God in prayer and worship, sharing our love with family and friends and volunteering our time in Church and community activities that help others and promote justice.

Sharing our talents arises from the fact that God has given each of us the ability and gifts to do certain things well and we are to develop those talents for the good of others.

Giving of our treasure is based on the principles of the Old and New Testament it is from God's word. It is also based on the individual's need to give - not on the Church's need to receive. The premise is obvious - all we have and all that we are comes from God. As a way to thank God, we share our treasure.

The Stewardship Committee is charged with the responsibility of educating the Parish regarding Stewardship. The Committee members are recruited by the Pastor based on: Daily or weekly liturgy attendance, strong faith life, involved in Parish work, does practice tithing or regular financial contribution, can be involved with community work as leader.

Stewardship as a way of life should be such a natural extension of our faith and education that the opportunities to educate and practice should be there constantly.
